For pure Arctic adrenaline, nothing beats a snowmobile safari. After a safety briefing and practice run, you follow your guide along scenic trails through old-growth pine forest and across frozen lakes, deep into pristine wilderness no car can reach.
No prior experience is required, and full kit — helmet, goggles, thermal overalls and boots — is provided. We pause for hot drinks and a campfire before riding back. It is a thrilling complement to the gentler reindeer and husky safaris.
Do you need experience to drive a snowmobile?
No. Your guide gives a full safety briefing and a short practice run before you set off, and leads the convoy at a manageable pace. A valid driving licence is required to drive; passengers can ride along without one.
What the safari is like
You ride in a small convoy along marked trails through forest and across frozen lakes, stopping at scenic viewpoints. Midway you warm up with hot drinks around a campfire before riding back — a mix of speed, scenery and Arctic stillness.
What’s included and what to wear
All safety gear and warm outer clothing are provided — helmet, goggles, balaclava, thermal overalls and boots. Wear warm base layers underneath. The safari can be combined with an evening Northern Lights hunt on many of our packages.
