Finland is the single best country on earth for a Northern Lights holiday — the aurora is visible on roughly 200 nights a year in Finnish Lapland, and our base in Ruka-Kuusamo sits directly under the auroral oval. Our Finland Northern Lights tour packages combine multiple guided aurora-hunting nights with daytime Arctic activities, so every day of your trip is full and every clear night gives you a real chance to witness the lights.
Unlike generic Scandinavia tours that give you a single aurora evening, every package below includes 2–3 dedicated Northern Lights chases led by local guides who track cloud cover and solar activity in real time and drive you to the clearest skies. And because we are an India-founded, Finland-based DMC, our trips are built for first-time Arctic travellers — warm clothing, transfers, food guidance and visa support all handled.
Best time to see the Northern Lights in Finland
The Finnish Lapland aurora season runs from late August to early April. The sweet spot is December to March, when nights are longest and the snow landscape is at its most magical. September–October (autumn “ruska”) offers milder temperatures, open water reflections and fewer crowds. Our winter departures are timed across the whole season so you can pick dates that suit your leave and budget.
How many nights do you need to see the aurora?
We recommend a minimum of 3–4 nights in Lapland to give yourself several chances at clear skies. Every one of our packages includes at least three Lapland nights with multiple guided hunts — and our Aurora Guarantee means that if the Northern Lights genuinely don’t appear during your booked tour, you can return on a future date for free.
