Meet Finland's only polar bears and 50+ Arctic species on a guided Ranua Wildlife Park day trip, with door-to-door transfers from Rovaniemi, Ruka & Kuusamo.
Ranua Wildlife Park is the northernmost zoo in the world and one of Lapland's most loved family attractions. Set in genuine Arctic forest, it is home to around 50 northern species — roughly 150 animals — including Finland's only polar bears, brown bears, lynx, wolverine, Arctic fox, musk ox and snowy owls, all living in large natural enclosures along an easy 3 km boardwalk.
Our guided day trip takes care of the round-trip drive, so you can simply enjoy a gentle, magical day among the animals of the north. Pickup is available from Rovaniemi (about an hour away) and from Ruka & Kuusamo, and the visit slots neatly into any of our Lapland packages.
What animals can you see at Ranua?
Ranua specialises in Arctic and boreal wildlife. The headline residents are Finland's only polar bears, but you will also see brown bears, lynx, wolverine, Arctic and red fox, musk ox, reindeer, otters and a large collection of owls and other northern birds — all in spacious, natural-feeling enclosures.
How to get to Ranua from Rovaniemi, Ruka or Kuusamo
Ranua is about a 1-hour drive south of Rovaniemi and roughly 1¼ hours from Ruka & Kuusamo. Our day trip includes comfortable return transfers from your accommodation, so there is no need to rent a car or navigate winter roads.
What's included and what to bring
The trip includes return transfers, park entrance, free time to walk the full animal trail and an English-speaking driver-guide. Dress warmly for the outdoor walk in winter; the park has a café and restaurant if you want to warm up.
